Old FOs revisited, part 1
I have been doing stuff, really I have, but I can't seem to get off my lazy behind and take photos of it. That would necessitate me taking it outside for the natural light, which somehow invokes the neighbors who all come out and start asking questions and touching things and throwing shadows and generally annoying me with their friendliness and interest. Ugh. So instead I have gone to the archives for things I've already done, most likely long long ago.
First up, from a swap I did on Craftster for the Small Bag and Charm Swap back in, oh, like 2005 or so. August '05? Maybe.
This is the exterior. It is a basic Jordy type bag construction. The whole thing was quite small, maybe 5" tall by 7" wide by 3" deep. Made of sky blue shorn corduroy so it's like a velvet but not. The front design is from a Japanese craft book of tote bag embellishments. The plane is embroidered, the clouds are appliqued felt and the sun is made of glass seed beads.

No, I don't know why it's loading sideways. Umm, the original Japanese pattern had the elements arranged differently. It wasn't until I was done that I realized I had the sun in the wrong location. It's supposed to be above and behind the plane, which explains why it's a silhouette but I am not that smart. Also, this was my first attempt at felt applique and for some reason I used a running stitch (why? why would someone do that?). It looked bad close-up. But again, I did not realize that until after I was done.
The interior was a mini-rose pattern cotton with one interior zipper pocket. There may have been a key fob, because I generally include one but I don't see one now so maybe I didn't as the bag was so small.

And the bag charm. Each charm had an individual clasp so it was detachable from the rest, which was handy because the recipient was able to use the disparate parts on different things. Starting from the top left: flag of Canada (Shrinky Dink plastic); 3 blue glass beads on staggered chains; pink and purple glass beads; star charm; knitting sheep (Shrinky Dink plastic); lady hiker charm; morning glory glass bead on bendy wire; felt sushi with seed beads. Phew.
