My name is Tania

And she is now a soldier in the people's army. To help her in her mission, I've made her a beret, using Caron Simply Soft in black and a G crochet hook. Don't worry. The President will eventually pardon her.

Any Gauge, Any Pattern Crochet Beret

Any weight yarn
Any size hook
1 Blythe head

Chain enough to go around your B's forehead with a bit of stretch. (I used a worsted weight with a G hook and I think I got around 40 or so.)

Slip stich into beginning chain so as to make a big loop. Place marker. You can either work in rounds or in rows, your choice. I ain't watching.

Continue in rounds or rows until your loop is around 1.5 cm/.5 inch tall, like a headband.

On your next round/row, crochet twice into each stitch. If you're using sc, 2 sc into every sc; if you're using hdc, 2 hdc into every hdc; etc. So if your initial chain was 20, you would now have 40 at the end of this round/row.

On the next round/row, crochet twice into every stitch again, same as the previous round/row, so if your inital chain was 20, you would have now have 80 (40 times 2).

Continue straight until your piece measures approximately 5 cm/2 inches from the band. If you try the beret on your B., it should just be reaching the crown.

For every row following, crochet two stitches together. If you're using sc, sc2tog every stitch, etc. Continue doing this until there is only small hole remaining on top. Break yarn, thread through remaining stitches, pull closed. And there you are.

If you continue straight after the band for an additional half inch or so, your beret will become a tam for all your Rasta Blythes.

Um, I hope this makes sense. I've never made a pattern before but this is what I did to make Tania's beret and she seems to like it.
