Old FOs revisited, part 2
For whatever reason, I work harder and fret over details when it involves a distant person I've never met who could probably care less.
This was for the "Green Purse Swap" on Craftster last year or the year before. The intended requested a hip bag (as in belt bag) with room enough to carry index cards. I did some stalking and found out she liked the Japanese culture so I made this.
This is the front of the finished bag and the photo was taken with my camera phone or possibly one of those keychain digital cameras, so the quality is terrible. Which is too bad. Made entirely of felt, it's made to resemble a traditional Japanese garden house. I had plans to make a shoji screen overlay but ran out of time. Anyway, pretend the doors are parted and that is why you can see the lovely lady working on her embroidery.

I really wish I had better photos of this *sigh*.
A close-up of the removable bird on the roof. You can see I've put another pocket into the roof (the lining of this pocket resembled stars in a nighttime sky).

The back, showing the belt straps (each snapped open individually so she could put it on after she'd already put her belt on. The devil is in the details.) Two index card sized pockets on the back there.

And the interior, showing, yes, a key fob! And a coin purse with the same fabric the sewing-lady-applique was cut from.

The interior of the coin purse was the same as the belt bag's interior.

I loaded the inside pockets up with Hello Kitty candy and a Hello Kitty tissue holder before I mailed it of.
I wish I had made a pattern for it or taken better notes because I could have really used one when I went to Seattle last month. Note to self: take better notes.
