Of gluttony and engines

I'd bought a package of Peeps to use as props in an Easter card and they sat on my kitchen counter for a few days, looking puffy. I thought, what is the great appeal? Why the stockpiling? Maybe they're not as gross as I'd thought? I haven't had one since I was a child, maybe the formula's changed? So I opened the package and sniffed them, poked them a little and finally ate one. Oh my God, it was so disgusting, so completely disgusting, I had to drink almost a liter of water right afterward. How can anyone eat something so sweet? I think my head turned inside out.

I decided to float one in my coffee, thinking that I like coffee that's mostly sugar anyway, but the Peep never melted. It listed to one side but was otherwise unaffected. So I had to eat it. Still disgusting.

Sunday morning and the Peeps are sitting in their trays getting stale but they still look so puffy and yellow. Long story short,

All that was left by Sunday afternoon. I'd eaten my props. I feel like such a cartoon fat kid.

However, the Peep boost made me decide to put a friction motor in the gangster's car from the Shanghai Chase set. That didn't work so it ended up in the Duesenberg which required an entire redo of the back half. I need to get the blue-grey rims and a shorter axle for the rear so it looks less like the Munstermobile. It works though, I was outside playing with it and already got it dirty when it crashed into an orange tree. I think I'll make a fabric canopy to replace the cheap-ass paper one while I'm at it (still looking for tan half doors and seats).

Well, I had to add blocks to Short Round's feet, he's driving, isn't he?

"Tree! TREEEEE!!!"
