These pretzels are making me thirsty.

I have been working on a Blythe helmet/hat for, oh, about three months now and it has fought me at every turn. First, the right yarn took a while to find (in terms of color, weight, hand and texture). Then, when the right yarn was found, it proved difficult to source.

Once it was finally here, the design stymied me for the longest time. The helmet is made of five individual pieces and each piece had to be redone numerous times. I think I'm finished now but I'm not, really. My accuracy has been called into question before so I will need to get approval and verify that the end product looks like it's supposed to, otherwise, it's more of the undo-redo-undo-redo.

So I've had to step away from it for the time being.

Once that's done, though, I can take up the infant sweater that I had started for my nephew before he was born and never finished and actually finish it. Except it would be for my niece who is due in August and is bound to be smaller than her freakishly large brother. Fingers crossed she's smaller.
