Meeting in Burbank-o

Let's just call this a spontaneous and impromptu meet. It wasn't, but I think we agreed to call it that. Cat and Kyle were in town for a conference and we got together at the Burbank Porto's for a confab.

I think you can see some dolls of everyone's here. Jesse's Ozzie; Ann's Edward; Angel's Pullip, Dal, Heather Sky, Gentle River and Pure Neemo; my Limonata, Peregrin, Iceman, Bruce Lee and the Empty Child; and Cat's mini-self, Susie Sad Eyes, CCC pig and I think a Fluorite with Cy girl parts? I think that's all of them.

Fortunately, Porto's had a high Yelp rating which is important to Bay Area people, as was explained to me. We had a few people approach us and ask polite questions, all very nice people including the strange-o who asked us if we were having a marketing meeting. My favorite was a young girl of about 11 or 12 who walked over with her mother and asked questions that showed she was actually interested (do you make them? what are they called? where can I get one? are they made here? how much do they cost? these look different, can you buy them that way? how much does it cost to change them? etc.). I handed her Peregrin (after I took her shoes off so they wouldn't fall and get lost) and showed her how the eyes changed. Angel wrote down the TIB website address for her to look into later. Very nice kid. Ann thought I was crazy for handing over a Kenner to a child but it was the sturdiest doll on that table and the one least likely to lose value for slight damage. I mean, what did she think the kid was going to do? Pull too hard? Pullstring's already been replaced. Scratch her face? Already sanded. Get her wet? She can take it. Drop her? She'd probably bounce. Try any of that with the customs or limiteds on that table and see where that leaves you.

It was fun and my sandwich was delicious. I'm sure I'll get in trouble for something later.
