I have how many sewing machines? Three?
So. I bought a big expensive doll and I have nothing to safely transport her in. Sure, I could get one of those bjd carriers that look like golf bags or coffins but they look like golf bags or coffins.
I thought about retrofitting a structured yoga mat carrier, and I might still, but first I thought I'd take a crack at sewing one. (Wait for jeers and laughter to subside). I was sorta thinking about it and wandering the aisles at Beverly's when I hap'd upon a pattern and saw that the measurements would do, with room for padding, like so:

Amy Butler's Kimberly Bag.
I've made Amy Butler patterns before so I shouldn't have too much trouble. The finished piece measures 6 1/2” tall x 17” long x 2 1/4” wide. Yumi is 16" tall so I do believe I'll expand the length and width by two inches and add D-rings, an adjustable shoulder strap, exterior pocket(s) and a double-ended zipper if I can find one in a color I like. If I feel wildly adventurous, I will add buckled straps to the interior through the padding. Or I will do nothing and just stroke the pretty pretty fabric I already bought for it. Ooooooh, blue.
