I've crossed over

It was inevitable that I would get a full-fledged bjd, I know. There were lots of them I'd considered and dismissed. I bought a Pipos Baha because she was cute but she couldn't wear wigs, really, and I had no reason to change her eyes so she seemed useless bjd-wise. She also didn't like to stand or hold a pose, I had to fight her each time.

I knew a lot about the different ones and the new releases and which companies were known for what which seemed really strange from someone who didn't own any or have any interest in owning any. Once I found myself seriously considering buying just the clothes alone, though, just because they were so beautiful and well made, I decided that was too much of the crazy and I should at least get a doll to wear that stuff. Only one though, the buck stops here. She's basically the size of a Supersize Barbie and I intend to treat her as such so I'm not going to have a long running storyline concerning her days at the lesbian vampire academy on my LiveJournal nor will I get upset if people don't know her "character" or who her internet boyfriend is. Did you feel that? Like a cold chill, like ice was suddenly poured over your head? Shudder.

Anyway, the first of many poorly posed photos, this is her at the Elfdoll store in Glendale. She's the one I'd arranged to pick up in person only to be foiled by a courier. Fortunately, the proprietress had actually called the courier and begged him to hang on to it, then raced over to the shipping center and cut open the boxes to retrieve mine, all while 9 months pregnant (seriously, she's due in like a week or something). My box still had the shipping tag to the dealer on it.

Apparently Elfdoll's favorite wigmaker in Korea declared bankruptcy and went out of business, which is why they sold this doll without a wig, which is atypical for them.

The other faceplate I bought as an option. I thought I'd like this one more, but I actually prefer the other one. The one will have it's uses, I'm sure.

I wanted to go to the LEGO store in Glendale while I was there but I had nothing to carry her in and I didn't want to leave her in the car, even in covered parking because it was hot out. Dang high maintenance doll.
