They weren't placid casual so they lost control

After seeing the Tibetan Shark Hat live and in person, my friend wanted to commission a "shark hat" for her Miss Sally Rice, Mako. I was looking forward to that because when I asked her what specifically she wanted she said "just do whatever you want!" (Normally, I would pin a person down because even though they say "whatever!" in terms of commissions, the person ALWAYS has something specific envisioned and will inevitably be disappointed that my telepathic hi-def powers have failed. In this case, though, she meant it.)

I made a preliminary one in a shark-ish color and showed her in person where I was going and what I planned to do. But then her friend got involved and got upset and blah blah blah so when Mako was sold, I said it was pointless to finish and the whole thing just fell by the wayside. That was months and months ago.

I thought I would return to this hat since she'd mentioned still wanting one and she'd volunteered a couple of weeks ago to take possession of my MRM's scalp to try and get it under control and not look like the "hot mess" it normally looks like. Being a lazy jerk, I though I'd get to it when I got to it but this week was a really sad one for her so I resolved to get off my ass and do it right. Well, as well as I could by Thursday. So after a load of permutations (make, undo, remake, undo, alter, undo, etc.):

Front

Side

Yarn: Caron Simply Soft in Light Country Blue and Black, Paton's Astra in Sparkle White.
Needles: US 1s (teeth), 3s (brim and fins) and 5s (rest of hat)
Pattern: None
Notes: Yarn knot eyes. Tough call trying to decide how fishy it should be. The fins were an afterthought and I'm still debating whether to add a tail and pelvic fin.
