Tibetan shark hat. Just because.

I was trying out a new stitch and, well, I just kept going. At least the pattern is tone on tone and not colorwork, as I had originally planned (white on black spiders for Halloween). Complicated pattern? Check! What else does it need? Umm, Ear flaps? OK! How about chin ties? Right! And some huge pompoms! Hey, now, let's not forget the other end. Oh, right, peaked top! Because of the color and the way I worked the decreases, the top came out curved and looks like a shark fin. The overall structure looked Tibetan. You'd think I had some sort of plan starting out but no. I just did it and looked at it afterwards and thought "What the hell is this?"

Yarn: Red Heart Soft, I think, in Seasalt
Needles: 8s, throughout
Pattern: None but the underlying motif is a combination of the butterfly stitch and the bowtie stitch.
Notes: I need to learn how to make pompoms, nice big and even pompoms.

On the far right, next to the tulip squishing neighbor's cat, is the MSR I'd preorderd. Such a shame. I bought her just for the stock and maybe parts and she arrived perfect looking right out of the box. So I'm unloading her. Well, I'm keeping her gear, I'm not crazy.
