Checkered flag, checkered flag, checkered flag for Harry Braff

Right, then. I completed this in late March 2008 as part of a trade which I suppose is now canceled. This was the fifth or sixth completed one and the elements went through numerous reworkings as well. In the end, I abandoned authenticity in favor of aesthetics.

Pattern: Base 4
Hook: F and possibly a G for the sides
Yarn: Paton Astra in Electric Blue, Paton's Astra in Sparkle White, Simply Soft in White.

There was a Thor helmet as well to go with an altered-to-fit costume but I neglected to take pictures since I gave it over a few hours after finishing it. I had hoped it would be entered in the contest so I would see it then but that didn't happen. So I'll go by memory.

Pattern: None
Needles: 6 (US)
Yarn: Actually, I tried this out with several yarns before finally using Red Heart Super Saver, oddly. It is almost impossible to find a flat gray yarn. Yarn makers seem to only want to make heathers or merles or metallics. For the wings and medallions on the side, Simply Soft in white.

I still have a trunk full of boys missing and presumed dead. I would inquire after them but I really don't want to know that they're at the bottom of the Sunshine Canyon landfill and I would rather live in ignorance. No matter (big matter), I suppose, the only one I really miss is Dirty Joe. I wasn't going to include him, he was a last minute replacement for Brad Pitt since I thought it would only be for a short time and he and his filth fit the profile best after Franz. And I don't care that I'm a grown person who shouldn't be animistic towards toys, he was my co-pilot and I was tremendously attached to him and his bumbling ways. Oh ... well. Maybe someday I'll go to a big meet and he'll be there and he'd bring them and I'd be overjoyed but I'm not holding my breath.

My weekend should have started an hour ago. Okay, okay, I'm leaving now, stop calling me, damn.
