I spent way too much money on LEGOs yesterday. Too much. I went to the store looking for base plates and hinges and I was denied. I should have just ordered what I needed online but that would have taken time and I wanted it now. Their loose brick selection was laughable. It looks like what's left over after you've already built the model. I ended up with two model sets, a grab bag, a custom minifig, two Creator sets and two keychains (which I hope to try this or this on). Thence to Target and bought yet another set. And I still don't have the hinges or base plates I wanted and will have to order them, dangit.
I miss whathisface. It seems strange to go from 60 to 0, to go from having a constant in my life to Houdini-opolis, it's like he died. It reminds me of Nature Valley Julie who I spoke to one day and she was gone the next. I spent the following year looking for her across the school blacktop, fully expecting her to just walk across and wave at me, and watching her boyfriend, who was in the car with her at the time, get paler and thinner until he just stopped coming to school altogether. If I saw her at the 20 year reunion next year, I don't think I would even be surprised. Surreal.
In my haste to be on time for the Re-Ment party yesterday, I forgot to bring the Christmas Swap packages, which I have finished (swear!) but I suppose another week after this long probably won't make much difference. I should be rewarded for a job done, mayhaps with LEGOs. Yes, I'll go do that now, good idea.
