You had to be a member of the group to see the actual contest entries in the pool (to be fair, direct linking also worked as I sent a few links to a non-group member and she was able to see them). There were 486 group members as of the last day of voting. And there were over 700 votes. Is it possible that disposable email addresses are not a well-kept secret?
