Finished Father's hat and why yes, it is far too large, thank you for asking. Gauge swatch? Well, of course, I did a gauge swatch. Calculated changes based on said swatch? Of course, I'm not a moron. Heeded changes? No, you got me there.
Yes, for some reason, I thought casting on 88 stitches for yarn that knit at 3 stitches to the inch would fit. No really, I thought that. I even went through a ball and a half of Rowan Biggy Print to do it. I used smaller needles or otherwise I would have 1.5 stitches to the inch. I am so clever.
He wore it anyway because he's like that. No, I don't have pictures and yes, I will redo it by casting on 66 stitches (it's an 11-stitch cable pattern). Oi.
