Beanie I am
Let us overlook, for the moment, the relevant racial slur such a title implies for at the present time I speak of hats.
Come closer and I will admit my filthy secret that I had occasion to mumble to my boss to explain why I have not seen "Jericho" despite my love for post-apocalyptic visions of the future... I watch "America's Next Top Model."
There. I've said it. It's shameful but it's true. I've watched it every year since it's debut, although not the debut episode which explains why it's still on the air.
Blah blah blah. The reason behind all this confessing is because there is a contestant on the show who I don't like because she looks WAY too much like Lori Petty. I don't like her, but damn, does she have nice hats. She seems to have an endless supply of floppy knit berets that are not too floppy and that I have been envying all season. My main problem for not having one for mine own is my giant head.
Nevertheless, after many work hours spent cruising the bars at Craftster, I decided to go with an off-the-cuff suggestion to do the Newsboy cap from Stitch N Bitch Nation and leave off the brim but add an extra cable repeat. It took me several weeks, but that was because I'd lost my book and could not remember the pattern and I wanted to get it right. But I did manage to finish it last night, at about 1:30 a.m. and I sewed the tail ends this morning and presto-bang, I have me a hat!
You'd think I'd've taken pictures, huh? No. ISO volunteer hat model. I think Julie would like to volunteer but I'll have to ask her. Nice Julie.
