My Saturday was somewhat productive. I remembered I had some fake fur scraps and thought I should make this weird doll a wig so I wouldn't have to pay someone $20 to make a wig for a $15 doll. I remembered enough about making fur wigs to get this far.
Covering head in masking tape and cutting a hairline.

And then I got stuck. I know that the tape has to somehow come off and that becomes the pattern for the wig, but how is it cut off? There's a detailed tutorial by some fella in SF on Flickr, or at least there was, he had left his pics up but taken out the instructions. Thanks. I went on DoA, followed a bunch of dead links, and finally just sort of marked lines.

I eventually sort of cut the tape off in one piece and laid it flat. But then I forgot to mark which was the front and which was the back and laid it backwards on the fabric so it came out reversed and upside down, so his sideburns are at a 45 degree angle and behind his ear. Yeah.

Not exactly what I wanted but close enough. I'd like to have one in green, in keeping with his "character" of being Medusa's son. For a playline doll, he has some nice weight to him and a nice face, not super girly, not grinning maniacally.
