I will never be a pattern writer
Certainly not a pattern tester. I picked up some gorgeous kid mohair from Compatto and decided to make a doll-sized mohair coat. I was thinking something with Bishop sleeves and a long, flared hem and a Peter Pan collar. That was the plan anyway. So I went ahead and laid out a pattern and wrote everything out ahead of time (on the back of an envelope which I still haven't opened, hope it's not important). Anyway, I followed my notes exactly, made sure to count my rows and stitches, etc. etc.
And yet:

Ahem, yes. The back, left front and right front are all different lengths. Oh, I got the width consistent, mostly, but the length is all over the place and hell if I know why. Okay, I take it back. I know why. I obviously didn't count the rows right. This is why I need to do everything in one sitting without interruption.
I am too discouraged to do the sleeves. Ugh.
