I really need to keep better track of things before they all pile up. My little Sirenita custom still needs to have her wings painted and her leg brace finished. I made most of the brace this weekend while I sat around waiting for my cat to be sick again, which was gross. It took all day, for the brace I mean, and then it looked half finished. I did manage to stab myself repeatedly and my left hand looks like chopped meat. And it's still not done. Hopefully it will stand up to use and not collapse the first time I put it on, one can dream.
I also went to Volks as a last minute trip on Sunday, when I discovered they closed at 6, not 5. They got new management sometime last year and changed things around a bit. It is clear they got new mandates that no customer is to be left alone while in the store, whether from misguided customer service of fear of shoplifting, I don't know. But the store was dead and had been dead all day, apparently, so while I was trying to look around, I had to keep up a steady stream of patter with Bailey who was trailing after me and blah blah blahing instead of just pretending to organize shelves while keeping me in her line of sight like any other suspicious salesperson. It was really uncomfortable. At one point she told me that her face was bleeding and I didn't know if that was my cue to drop everything and run out of the store or what. I told her I would not have noticed if she hadn't said anything. She did not leave to go wash her hands or use Purell or anything and I did not want her touching anything I was buying. When I got home, I used gloves to take everything out of the packaging and tossed the packaging immediately. Bleh.
