The reign of super powers must be over
I've been busy avoiding keeping busy with the end result of being busy. Four birthdays in two weeks and ain't nobody getting nothing, so there. I did make one thing but I have added it to my Museum Of Presents That Ain't Wanted (formerly known as I Busted My Ass for You Ungrateful Bitches but that didn't look so hot on the souvenir mugs). The grammar annex is closed for repairs, please show yourself out, thanks.
This here.

Pattern: ilovegeorge
Yarn: I'm going to say Karabella Aurora 4
Needle: US7 steel
Notes. Um, it could probably be a little shorter so it's more empire-y.
The halter ties have beads at the end that match the one on the bodice and the whole thing closes with one tiny green button in the back. Very Lily Pulitzer. I managed to get the hem and seams even, yay me. Well, I like it so I don't mind keeping it. The dress is based on a pattern I got from an Etsy seller who just gave it to me for the asking (!!!) but I didn't want to deal with the fiddly mountain-valley-mountain seams so I just crocheted the top part and called it a day. And, because this is how these things go, I lost the pattern so I had to use one of the seller's finished dresses to sort of gauge things. Don't bother, I'm rolling my own eyes and shaking my own head.
I had another two commissions from Etsy, which I actually finished within my estimated time but never got around to taking photos for the listing because I came home after dusk almost every day and was running around doing other stuff.
Last weekend, a doll friend invited me out for her birthday (I made sure there'd be other people) and I thought it was, you know, a doll thing. Imagine my surprise when I got there and met her family and work friends. I was the only "doll person" there. Not creepy at all. I wished she had mentioned something about that ahead of time so I could have dressed better and maybe not have brought a doll with me. I felt all kinds of inappropriate. I wasn't sure what to even do when her mother said "Oh! It's great to finally put a face to a name! She talks about you all the time!" I felt like the expanding gonk and my eyes hurt because I had to will myself to stay in place and smile while my entire body and most of my brain was pointed in the other direction, screaming "RUN! Run and don't look back!" Since part of the party was at a yarn store, I decided to multitask and finish the commission I finished in time but didn't list in time, late is late.

In other unimportant news, I am hoping to go to San Diego this weekend to live like a pioneer.
