Doll worlds collide
Went to a BJD meet-up on Sunday in sunny and boiling hot San Diego. I did not run into any relatives so it was a grand day all 'round. I do not have any ball-jointed dolls of my own (yet, ominously) so I brought Astro and Sweeney in a bunny suit and bear suit, respectively. I had no particular reason for doing so except that it would make them more endearing, although in retrospect it's actually kinda icky, like those cloth dolls with human baby faces screenprinted on them. Bleh.
Anyway, this was one table full of dolls:

This was another table:

Not the best angle to view the BJDs but who cares, you can see my dolls.
There was a third table too but it was, like, all the way over there. So, no picture.
One lady had Blythes of her own that she hadn't brought(en) and liked seeing them. She was very nice and very attractive and smart. Then there were two other persons, who were troll-like with offensive odors, who told me Blythes were creepy and scary. One knuckle-dragger in particular who hadn't spoken to me at all during the meet made a point of coming over to me and telling me that she hated them.
Nevertheless, the unofficial official meet photographer made sure to include them in the pics of the meet he posted and considering he probably shot well over 300 frames, someone besides me liked them so there.
