Faster, Number Five, Kill Kill
Please not to asking me the wheretofores and whoseits, but the decision to make a sort of crazed bunny hat emerged. I won't say who was responsible, but it wasn't me (it was me). I liked those little amigurumi dolls and the little felt dolls of the tattered bunny with the one button eye falling off and the chewed ear. So that's what I did. Number Five wanted to wear it since, thanks to Jenni, she thinks she has a morbid personality.
Her gorgeous Victorian dress here is by the disgraced AdoraPop of Dreamsaver Toys. The ears in the hat are wired for poseability but I don't think anyone else will be wearing it ever again as it creeps me out and the wire keeps poking through.

Note: My sister is behind the sofa, crouched down holding Number Five up. While all this was going on, my father opened one eye, saw the doll with the rusty knife and me in front with a camera then closed his eye again and pretended to sleep. Also note that the knife drawer in the first two photos is a drawer reserved exclusively for knives that cannot be used for one reason or another. Why not throw those knives out? Why don't you just shut up?
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft in Black. Of course!
Hook: G
Pattern: Huh? Basic hat pattern until it looked like an eyehole should be there, then an eyehole. Ears worked separately then sewn on until I decided that they needed to be wired. The wire was crocheted on after the ears were sewn and that was as difficult as it sounds.
